Yes Grown Ups! It's Time To Dress Up For Halloween!

Image
Photo by  Thirdman  from  Pexels Yes Grown Ups! It's Time To Dress Up For Halloween! We as adults really don't think about it. As we get older, we stop dressing up for Halloween. I think it was around high school, complete strangers began to tell me it wasn't ok for kids my age to trick or treat. I was taller than most, so fair enough ...or was it?  As I grew more and more into adulthood the spirit of one of my most favorite holidays began to dwindle and die. I slowed my routine of wearing a costume, parties became a chore, and then I just stopped thinking about it. A little scary movie was enough. It really became a mystery to me why it all stopped. My Top 5 Scary Movie List For Kids!

Image
Photo by  Ketut Subiyanto  from  Pexels My Top 5 "Scary Movie" List For Kids! It's that spooky time of year where we all love to be scary and we all love to get scared! With the pandemic, it is pretty hard for some of us to go on outings or even to trick or treat! Not to fear however, you can have plenty of fun for almost any age with this movie list.  It is REALLY tough to find spooky kid friendly movies and I would suggest to do what I did with my kids, test the waters. I'll make some suggestions on some starting ages but some children are more tolerant for spooky movies than others. The scale I've tipped these movies on are based on appropriateness and fun, not best to worst. Start making your pop-corn, get everyone on that couch, and turn the lights off! Immerse yourself 5 days of movie night with my mostly kid friendly list! 1. The Hotel Transylvani...

Photo by  Anna Shvets  from  Pexels The Strappening!  Keep Your Child In Their Chair During School From Home! (Quick Post) The title sounds a lot worse than it actually is. For us parents, who are living through the pandemic with small children who are schooling from home, keeping them in their seat is a HUGE challenge. To be very honest, most office chairs or chairs we have around the house are not ideal, nor are they meant to for our children to be in for long periods of time. They squiggle, squirm, lay down, zig zag, and even sliver out of their seat. So, what do we do? Keep reading and I'll tell you what worked for me in five easy steps ! Step 1: Talk to them! Decompress That Pressure!

Image
Photo by Nathan Dumlao on Unsplash Decompression After Working And Schooling From Home (Quick-ish post) Decompression by definition, simply put, is to release pressure. Our daily lives are full of pressure coming from all directions! We have to give ourselves props! If any mechanical engine were to receive the amount of pressure we receive daily, it would flat out break! We get pressure directly, indirectly, sideways, upside down, EVERYWHERE! Emotional, social, and physical pressure from the media, work, school, friends and family. You name it! So, what can we do to release this pressure from our everyday lives before we break? Step 1: Take the time to breathe ...properly. (Here comes the Fluff, skip to the easy outline here! ) Photo by  Ekaterina Bolovtsova ...
