A Paranormal Experience #1. It said "hello!"
Prologue
In life, there are just some things we cannot explain. We often chalk these
situations up to be a figment of our imagination, the dark playing games with
our eyes, or just the wind blowing through a drafty house. For some, these are
very real experiences and known as supernatural or paranormal phenomena. The
following is an experience I've encountered.

Now to the story!
As a child and growing up, we've always known our apartment building to
have strange phenomena and possible hauntings. Come bedtime, bumps would go
in the night, nightlights would turn off on their own, and creaky footsteps
would shuffle down our old floors in the hallway. Standard spooky kind of
stuff, right?
This story is about a more exciting moment with such phenomena when I was around the age of 5 to 8.
I don't really remember much of the day other than everything being very "average". I went through the motions of the day and evening, at least to the standards of a typical young child. I finished up the Hamburger Helper I had for dinner, which was the staple food in my 90's household, I brushed my teeth and prepped for bed.

Things were quieter than usual. Maybe the light had kept me half awake and I wondered if it had done the same to my brother. Eventually, my eyelids got heavy, I was drifting to sleep, and at the edge of wake and dreams, I heard a high pitch, but friendly voice say "hello" from my bottom bunk, at the foot of my bed. It sounded like a grown man trying to sound like a little girl or a strangely distorted child. I look, and no one was there.
Startled, as any child or even adult would do, I cautiously began to cover my head with my blanket. I tried to calmly call for my brother, "Bran?", I questioned my brother on the top bunk. "Yeah?", he replied. I asked, "Did you say something?" He responded, "you mean 'Hello?'" I replied "yes!" You can hear the fear in his voice, shaken, but trying to stay brave. He lied for my sake and claimed it was him as he made his way down to share my bunk with me. We didn't want to get in trouble, so we tried to sleep it off. Two terrified children just blaming each other and claiming ownership of the phantom voice to calm our nerves and finally fall asleep.
We questioned each other the next morning. Maybe it was just a dream or my imagination? We determined neither of us said a thing and that both of us, 100% heard that "hello", loud and clear as day!
We had not heard another strange phantom voice like that ever again, however, it wasn't the only voice, nor was it the last we've seen, heard, smelled, or felt paranormal activity in our home.
More chilling experiences to be continued...
