A Paranormal Experience #3 Steps On The Cabin Porch
Prologue
Please Read: The following is a story. It is a situation I've personally encountered. You may or may not take it as fact or believe it. You're allowed to be skeptical. This story is for entertainment purposes.
Now to the story!
Growing up, our family was lucky enough to have a vacation home in the Californian mountains. We spent some beautiful snowy winters and fun filled summers there. It was your stereo typical, run of the mill, picture perfect place to be that can easily be associated with any fun filled family movie.
One winter we went up to the mountain house to play in the snow and enjoy a winter wonderland weekend. Our house was within a forest dense area and lined with trees called Sugar Pines which smelled amazing when it rained and even more amazing in the snow as the moisture extracted a scent that flourished in the neighborhood. It was like a Christmas tree and sugar cube had babies who crawled up to everyone's noses and gave them a hug. Beautiful sights and wonderful "oohs and ahhs" as we passed by every snow covered tree, rock, and floor.
We had gone right before ski season where all vacancies were open and really, no one was up there other than shop keepers getting ready for their seasonal rush. We rolled up to our house from the dirt road, unpacked, and enjoyed the sights and smells the mountains had bountifully provided until evening.

The night was very quiet. For being city dwellers, it was eerily quiet.
"Gajunk...Sshhrrkk", a deep thump and a shuffle on the porch was heard. I woke up first to the noise. Nudged my brother, "Wakeup"! "Gajunk", again it happened and as I was shaking my brother. He sat right up, "what was that?" he asked me. "No idea!" I replied. Deep shuffling, and more deep foot steps were heard. Whatever it was, it was HEAVY!
We discussed what it could be. It could be a bear, but those were uncommon in the area and hibernating around this time. It could be a donkey as they're very common in the area, but, a donkey on the porch? It was unheard of. Then we thought the worst case scenario, a lost stranger or a burglar but, what would they be doing on our lit porch at this time and in the snow, especially in the dead of night?
We began to stare at our long and large window covered by some thin salmon shades. The porch was pretty big and had a light with a slight flicker and an orange hue. That's when we began to see a very tall and very faint silhouette walking slowly from right, to left away from the front door. Naturally, we were pretty used to shadows as our house has had some paranormal experiences, but this was different, this looked more solid. Through the little holes that the lines went through in our window shades to roll them up, we saw a physical mass. Something was blocking the light through the tiny holes as this 7 to 8 foot figure walked from right to left.

We were children and unfortunately curiosity got the best of us. We bravely crept to the window. We slowly put each of our hands on the window sill. The holes were blocked still. We can faintly see a brown texturized color through the holes. It wasn't clear enough for us. Our eyes were brought down to the window sill in hopes to evade detection as we slowly lifted the blinds up a crack.
Hair! Nothing but brown, black, and blond rough hair. It was slender for its size but overall thick and super tall. It wasn't fat like a bear or long like donkey. It noticed us and turned rapidly toward the window.
With a small yelp, my brother and I ran quietly as we could, not to upset whatever it was outside, to our parents room to let them know. Of course they disregarded it as nothing as children often imagine things, right? My brother said he didn't get a good look but, I did, and I knew 100% what it was. Bigfoot. We then stopped our camping trip and found comfort in an occupied room.
Back then the statistics were either slim or not bountiful but now, California is the holder of the 2nd place title for having the most bigfoot sightings only slightly beaten by Washington state.
I can tell you this, after that experience, camping was never the same and peeking out windows can sometimes be better off left alone...
